Early Train By M.M.Wake

The early mist drizzles

past damp clod fields and water colour skies

faded into a cool palette

of stained yellow bracken.

The flat gold of late Autumn

airbrushed into winter

Bleary  eyed and smear spattered

we pass through relentless grey

and emptiness.

The miserable commuting class

hunched in individual waiting.
